Leh is the capital of Ladakh. The adventure tourist should never miss this paradise on earth. The Leh-Ladakh is the highest plateau in situated in Jammu and Kashmir. The beauty of the snow covered Himalayas with the green pine trees is a beautiful picturesque thing to watch. The weather in Leh is a chilly weather and hence a large number of tourists come to visit this place every year. Leh is located 3500 meters above sea level. Leh was the most beautiful place which I visited and saw the amazing snow cupped peaks, high mountain peaks, and the beautiful green valley which are laden with the pine trees you may also plan a trip using travel itinerary. Besides this you have beautiful lakes and the glaciers which are not to be missed. I could explore many Recreational activities in Leh during my trip to this enchanting place.

I must say that my tour to Leh was very fruitful is worth mentioning. This was one of the best travel experiences I ever had. Leh is a Buddhist prominent place; and I could explore the Buddhist culture. The main Leh Activities which I enjoyed was to visit these beautiful Buddhist temples and also visit the Monastery which is well-known in Len. Leh is well-known for Gompas which are built in hemispherical shapes and are very colorful.

Leh Palace –

Visiting the Leh Palace is one of the most sought after Activities to do in Leh and also one of important building in Leh. One should never miss to visit this palace during your trip to Leh. The palace is the home to the Royals. The palace has been built traditionally and the best piece of architecture in Leh. The palace was constructed in the 17th century and located on the Namgyal Hill. The King Singge Namgyal resided in this palace. The palace of Leh is a 9 storied building and there are many Buddhist scriptures, paintings and also the well-known traditional tangkhas present in the palace. The palace also displays the highest statue of the Maitreya Buddha also known as the future Buddha.

Stok Palace Museum – Other Recreational activities in Leh is to visit the Stok Palace museum. This is the most important place to visit in Leh. This palace museum is situated at 14 kilometers from Leh and lies across the bridge of Choglamsar. The museum displays the details about the royal family. The palace museum has a huge collection of the royal ornaments, artifacts and also the traditional clothes and jewelry which the kings and queens use to adorn. You can even see different types of coins and precious stones which were used during the royal era.

Sankar Gompa –

Visiting the Sankar Gompa is one of the exciting Activities to do in Leh. This is the Gelukspa school of Buddhism where the Tibetans practice Buddhism. This Gompa is also the branch of the Spituk Monastery which was found by the head monk of Spituk. It is also the official residence of the head monk of the spiritual school. The Gompas are beautified using the colorful murals.
